Алексеев Валерий Аркадьевич
Президент Международного общественного Фонда единства православных народов

 

Родился 23 октября 1953 года в Астрахани.

Учась в вечерней школе, работал судосборщиком. Служил в рядах Вооруженных сил СССР.

После окончания исторического факультета Саратовского государственного университета им. Н.Г.Чернышевского защитил кандидатскую диссертацию по истории.

В 1976-1981 годах работал в Саратовском обкоме ВЛКСМ, Саратовском обкоме КПСС, ЦК ВЛКСМ.

До 1991 года работал в центральных органах печати ЦК КПСС, консультантом в Отделе национальной политики ЦК КПСС, где занимался вопросами государственно-церковных отношений.

В 1991-1993 годах занимался журналистской и научно-педагогической деятельностью.

В 1994-2003 годах работал советником Председателей Государственной Думы Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации 3-х созывов, был Председателем парламентского Экспертного-консультативного совета по свободе совести; одновременно являлся членом Комиссии по вопросам религиозных объединений при Правительстве Российской Федерации.

Защитил по философии докторскую диссертацию в МГУ им. М.В. Ломоносова на тему "Проблемы государственно-церковных отношений в XX веке". С 1994 г. преподает в МГУ, являясь профессором этого университета.

Является автором многих научных и публицистических работ в отечественной и зарубежной прессе по проблемам государственно-церковных отношений, положения православия в современном мире, а также автором книг "Иллюзии и догмы" (1991г.), "Штурм небес отменяется?" (1992 г.), "Постперестройка: несвободная совесть?" (1992 г.), "Агония зла: конец мирового проекта" (1995 г.), "Жизнь человека. От купели до погоста " (1996 г.), "Тернистый путь к живому диалогу" (1999г.), "Православная общественность в современном мире" (2006 г.)  и др. Является одним из разработчиков фундаментального труда "Национальная доктрина России: проблемы и приоритеты" (РАУ-Корпорация, 1994).

В.А.Алексеев — политический советник Межпарламентской Ассамблеи Православия с момента создания в Афинах (1994г.) этой организации; действительный член Императорского Православного Палестинского общества, входит в состав Комитета его почетных членов. Является действительным членом Российской Академии Словесности, членом Общественного Совета по изданию "Православной энциклопедии" и др.

Является Президентом Международного общественного Фонда единства православных народов, созданного им в 1995 году по благословению Святейшего Патриарха Московского и всея Руси Алексия II, возглавлявшего в 1995-2008 годах Попечительский Совет Фонда, который действует ныне под попечением Святейшего Патриарха Московского и всея Руси Кирилла.

Имеет большой опыт работы по укреплению всеправославного единства, участник многих крупных международных встреч на высшем уровне и межцерковных мероприятий на Балканах, в странах Православного Востока, Восточной и Западной Европы, в США, пользуется авторитетом у Предстоятелей Поместных Православных Церквей, глав государств православного мира.

В 1996 году стал лауреатом международной премии Фонда Андрея Первозванного в номинации "За Веру и Верность", в 2005 году — лауреатом международной премии имени святых равноапостольных Кирилла и Мефодия, учрежденной российским Славянским Фондом. Награжден: Почетной Грамотой Государственной Думы РФ, Почетной Грамотой Совета Федерации Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации, медалью ордена "За заслуги перед Отечеством" II-й степени (2003 г.), медалью "В память 200-летия Минюста России", знаком Министерства иностранных дел России "За вклад в международное сотрудничество" (2008 г.),  Почетным знаком Президента Республики Болгарии, Орденом Дружбы Российской Федерации (2009 г.) и другими российскими и иностранными знаками отличия.

Имеет награды Русской Православной Церкви: ордена Святого Благоверного князя Даниила Московского II-й и III-й степеней, Преподобного Сергия Радонежского II-й степени, Святого Равноапостольного князя Владимира III-й cтепени, Святителя Иннокентия III-й степени, Преподобного Серафима Саровского II-й и III-й степеней.

Награжден орденами Болгарской, Сербской, Польской, Украинской Церквей, а также орденом Святых Апостолов Кирилла и Мефодия Автокефальной Поместной Православной Церкви Чешских земель и Словакии.

Женат. Имеет сына - Алексеева Дениса Валерьевича, известного российского религиоведа и церковного публициста, кинопродюсера, ученого, преподавателя МГУ им. М.В. Of Orthodox Christian Nations, Doctor of Science, professor.

 

Was born on the 23rd of October 1953 in Astrakhan. While studying at night school worked as a shipwright. Served in Soviet army.

After graduating from historical faculty of N.G. Chernyshevsky Saratov State University, he defended the candidate’s dissertation in History.

In 1976-1981 worked in Saratov regional committee of AULYCL (All-Union Leninist Young Communist League), Saratov regional committee of Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), central committee of AULYCL.

Before 1991 worked in the central press administration of the central committee of CPSU,

Was the consultant in the National Policy Department of central committee of CPSU, where Professor Alexeev was dealing with the relationships between the government and the Church.

In 1991-1993 practiced journalism and educational research activity.

In 1994-2003 was the advisor of the President of 3 convocations of State Duma of Russian Federation Federal Assembly. He was the chairman of the parliamentary expert-consultative council on the freedom of conscience; and at the same time was the member of the religious community commission under the government of Russian Federation.

He successfully defended the philosophy doctoral dissertation in M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) titled ‛The problems of state-church relationships in the XX century‛.  Starting from 1994, he lectures in MSU, being actual professor of this University.

Professor Alexeev is the author of numerous scientific and journalistic publications on the problems of relationships between the State and the Church and about the position of Orthodox Christianity in contemporary world in Russian and foreign press. He is also the author of the books: ‛Illusions and dogmas‛ (1991), ‛Assault on the Heaven is cancelled?‛ (1992), ‛Post-Perestroika: constrained conscience?‛ (1992), ‛The Agony of the Evil: the end of the global project‛ (1995), ‛The life of a man. From the laver to the churchyard‛ (1996), ‛Thorny way to the living dialogue‛ (1999), ‛Orthodox Christian community in contemporary world‛ (2006) and others. He is one of developers of the fundamental work ‛Russian national doctrine: problems and priorities‛ (1994).

V.A.Alexeev – is the political advisor of Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy, starting from its foundation in Athens in 1994. He is actual member of Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, and is a member of its honored members Committee.  He is also an actual member of Russian Academy of literature, member of Community Council on publishing ‛Orthodox encyclopedia‛ and others.

He is the president of International Foundation for the Unity of Orthodox Christian Nations, which was founded by him in 1995 with the blessing of His Holiness Alexi II Holy Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, who was in 1995-2008 the Head of the Foundation’s Trustee Council; which is now under beneficence of His Holiness Kirill Holy Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia.

Professor Alexeev has a very big experience in strengthening of All-Orthodox unity; he participated in numerous high-level international meetings and parachurch arrangements in Balkans, in the countries of Orthodox East, Eastern and Western Europe and in the USA. He is well known among the Primates of local Orthodox Churches and Heads of the states of Orthodox tradition.

In 1996 he became the laureate of international award of the Andrei Pervozvanny (St Andrew the First-Called) Foundation (FAP) for ‛For Faith and Loyalty‛, in 2005 – professor Alexeev became the laureate of the Saint Cyril and Methodius Equals to the Apostles award, established by the Russian Slavic Foundation. He was awarded by: the certificate of honor of the Russian Federation State Duma; certificate of honor of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Medal of the Order of Merit for the Motherland, 2nd degree (2003); Medal «In memory of the 200 anniversary of Ministry of Justice of Russia»; badge of honor of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation ‛For the contribution into international cooperation‛ (2008); Honored badge of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria; Order of Friendship of Russian Federation (2009), and by other Russian and foreign marks of distinction.

Professor Alexeev has awards of Russian Orthodox Church such as: ‛Order of Prince Daniel of Moscow‛, 2nd and 3rd degrees, Order of the Reverend Saint Sergius of Radonezh 2nd degree, Order of St. Prince Vladimir Equal-to-the-Apostles 3rd degree, Order of St. Innocent 3rd degree, Order of Reverend Seraphim of Sarov 2nd and 3rd degree.

He was awarded by the Orders of Bulgarian, Serbian, Polish, Ukrainian Churches, also by the Order of the Saint Apostles Cyril and Methodius of the Orthodox Autocephalous Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

Married, has a son – Alexeev Denis Valerievich, a well known Russian theologian and Church publicist, film producer, scientist, lecturer of Lomonosov Moscow State University.
